At EarthEmpower Consulting, we create significant change through strategic partnerships. As part of Georgetown University’s initiative to transform low-income communities through cooperative ownership and sustainable neighborhoods, we conducted extensive research to help plan cooperative grocery stores and wealth-building ventures.

Our consultancy focused on creating a community-centered approach emphasizing collective ownership, democratic governance, and economic solutions tailored to BIPOC workers and residents. We contributed to strategies addressing income, home, and business ownership disparities, ensuring access to fresh, affordable, and culturally relevant food through community-owned cooperative grocery stores.

We supported the development of a hybrid business structure combining non-profit and cooperative elements to ensure financial sustainability and community benefits. Community engagement was central to our work, including forming Community Advisory Councils and ongoing education on cooperative economics. Additionally, we helped foster community building through collaborative programming in workforce development, networking, and business ownership opportunities.
